JDA Offers IS-BAO Audits for Business Aviation

JDA Aviation Technology Solutions (JDA) today announced that it has expanded its services by offering certified International Standard for Business Aircraft Operations (IS-BAO) audits. IS-BAO is considered the “gold standard” for business flight departments and charter operators in meeting effective and efficient processes for safety and security.

JDA's IS-BAO accredited auditors have undergone rigorous training and are recognized by the International Business Aviation Council (IBAC) as proficient to assist new or existing business or private flight departments and charter operators that want to meet internationally-recognized safety and security processes. In addition they are ISO 9001 auditors and one is a lead auditor.

IS-BAO applies to any size fleet, ranging from a one-aircraft fleet to a large international one. IS-BAO audits involve investigating and at times aligning processes to adhere to best practices approved by the IBAC. The IBAC approved standards incorporate ISO 9000 processes, along with recommendations from the Flight Safety Foundation. The processes use the next-generation safety management system (SMS) as a framework. Currently, IS-BAO is the only certification that meets or exceeds all the requirements of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), requirements to which all aircraft operating in ICAO-governed airspace must adhere by November 2010.

IS-BAO provides a systematic approach to risk management and a tool for eliminating repeatable errors as well as enhancing employee knowledge and commitment to professional flight operations, which in turn equates to improved quality, safety and efficiency.

JDA is also a MITRE-licensed SMS training organization and is recognized by the FAA as a qualified certification consultant for new entrant operators.
